Spider veins are clusters of red, blue or purple veins that usually appear on the thighs, calves and ankles. Spider veins are a result of excess blood in the blood stream backing up and creating new veins on the skin’s surface. Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical procedure that removes or improves the appearance of these unwanted veins. A sclerosing solution is injected with a very fine needle into the blood vessel causing the vessel wall to be absorbed resulting in complete disappearance of the vessels or a lighter color in appearance. Results are normally seen over a 6-8 week period and follow up treatments may be necessary. Sclerotherapy does not prevent new vessels from forming.
Kybella is an injectable treatment that destroys fat cells under the chin, thus reducing the appearance of a double chin. Kybella targets the submental fat cells and destroys them without affecting surrounding tissue. After these fat cells are destroyed, the body naturally absorbs and eliminates them, and gradually your double chin will reduce in size. Kybella is FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe fat below the chin. Kybella is administered as multiple injections into the fat tissue in the submental area. Patients may see results in 2 to 4 treatments but number of treatments needed varies among patients.
See our Aesthetic Services for information on facial peels.
Micro needling or skin needling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure used to improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, large pores, and thin or lax skin. Micro needling involves the production of microscopic needle incisions which result in a controlled injury response within the skin which triggers growth factors and collagen production thereby enhancing the overall appearance of skin. Daytona SR, a serum combining 57 of the most effective ingredients for skin rejuvenation is being used topically and is infused into your skin during the micro needling. Multiple treatments may be recommended as individual results vary. A free consultation may be scheduled to discuss the procedure in more detail.
Botox® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Injections of Botox® Cosmetic can also improve crow’s feet, forehead lines, and achieve brow lifting. Xeomin contains botulinum toxin type A and is a prescription medicine used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Similarly, crows feet and horizontal forehead lines can also be improved by the injection of Xeomin which weakens the muscles and causes improvement in the overlying wrinkles.
Bellafill® is a dual-acting injectable dermal filler for nasolabial folds or moderate to severe acne scars. First, the collagen provides immediate volume below nasolabial folds or pitted acne scars to lift them to the level of the surrounding skin. Secondly, the PMMA microspheres remain in place and create a base that provides structural support to the skin. Most patients can expect to maintain the correction they see early after treatment. However, every patient’s skin is unique and it is recommended to begin with a conservative amount and continue with touch up treatments as needed to achieve optimal results. Optimal correction of all the areas that you are concerned with may take several syringes and/or treatment sessions. A discussion of how many syringes and treatment sessions that will be required, along with associated costs related to treatment(s), should take place prior to any treatment. Bellafill is now the only FDA approved dermal filler with established safety and effectiveness through five years in the U.S., following the completion of its 5 year post approval study.
Belotero injectable dermal filler is as unique as you are. Specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. By adaptating to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth for smooth and natural results that are uniquely you. Belotero Balance Dermal Filler is made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as verticle lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line). Juvederm injectable gel is a nonsurgical, provider administered treatment for those wrinkles and folds in the lower third of the face. It is made from Hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. Hyaluronic acid may diminish with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. Juvederm injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to smooth wrinkles and folds. There is minimal recovery or downtime and most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last up to 18 months or more. However, results may vary and supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
Radiesse is a safe, FDA-approved, dermal filler that gives both immediate and long lasting results and restores a healthy natural look. Radiesse is injected into the skin to soften creases and folds, support areas of volume loss and contour specific facial areas. Radiesse can be used for mid face rejuvenation by re-inflating the fat pads under the eyes to give a much more full and youthful cheek look. Radiesse typically provides a long lasting natural looking restoration for a year or more.
Radiesse has also been FDA approved for the correction of volume loss in the hands. Radiesse performs an immediate voluminous effect and can help reduce the prominence of tendons and veins in the hands delivering smooth natural looking results that can last up to one year
Restylane is a hyaluronic acid (HA) injectible gel that is FDA approved for correction of facial wrinkles in the nasolabial area (nose-lips) and the fold between the cheek and the nose/upper lip. Restylane is also used to enhance the appearance of lips but is an “off label” treatment. HA is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume.
